TESCO is letting kids eat for free this half term, but you'll need a Clubcard to cash in.

If you're signed up to the supermarket's free reward scheme, you'll be able to claim any kid's freshly cooked main meal, that comes with a side, kid's breakfast, or Pick and Mix from the Tesco cafe.

Usually kid's main meals, including chicken goujons and chips or sausage and mash, cost £2.85 at The Cafe at Tesco.

But for one week only you can treat your little ones to a meal out, completely free of charge.

All you have to do is scan your Clubcard when you visit the in-supermarket restaurant to claim the free meals.

It works in just the same way as when you go to scan your Clubcard to get money off your groceries during your weekly shop, instead of it coming up as a lower price like it does at the tills though, your new total will be free.

In the UK there are 315 Tesco Cafes, but the offer will be subject to availability.

You can only claim up to four free meals in the offer too, so that means only one freebie per child if you've got four hungry mouths to feed, or up to four visits to the supermarket cafe if you just have one kid to entertain this week.

You have from now until October 31 to claim the freebie, but the food offered in the deal can depend on the store you visit.

In some cases only the Pick and Mix might be on offer for example.

Use Tesco's store locator tool to find your closest, that houses a Tesco Cafe too, and try ringing ahead to double check what's available in the deal near you, that way you'll save facing any disappointment.

It's also worth pointing out that adults won't be able to treat themselves to a discounted dinner with the half term promo either, as it only applies to kids' meals for the limited time.

Tesco recently revamped its Clubcard scheme, and you now need to be a member of the scheme to get the best deals in store and online.

It's not only the free meals, but the supermarket's loyalty scheme is offering money off for families on a raft of activities over the October half-term.

The points you rack up for purchases made in-store, are turned into vouchers for money-off, or they can also be converted with other retailers for days out or meals, making them worth up to three times their value.

Alternatively, the vouchers can be used on a Disney+ subscription or at Tenpin bowling.

You can cash in on a number of other freebies this half term holiday outside of Tesco's promoions too, especially if you find yourself strapped for cash.

Supermarkets are in fact leading the way when it comes to October freebies, as at Morrisons you can benefit from a free pumpkin perfect for the spooky season, and Iceland has launched a new grocery freebie scheme.
