When we launched LatestFreeStuff.co.uk in March 2012, it was to help make it easier for UK residents to get free stuff. Our aim was to create the largest genuine freebie directory in the UK. There were already a lot of websites out there but many revolved around promotions or advertising campaigns. So we began scouring the web for genuine freebies and handwriting every post, spending up to eight hours a day.
In July 2012 we had enough funds to wonder whether we could get other people to do the research and content writing, which would make us more efficient by leaving us to concentrate on marketing activities. So we starting exploring outsourcing. Weeks of research and interviews found us the perfect candidate. He would work every morning for four to five hours leaving me to concentrate on promoting the website.
It has been a massive success. We now get 150,000 unique visitors per month. We have more than 1m page views and Facebook and Twitter accounts with more than 9,000 fans. We also just launched in the USA. The business has grown due to outsourcing.
